About rodent control

House mice, Norway rats, and roof rats move into Tulsa area homes as soon as nights cool in September. They nest in attics, walls, garages, and under appliances.

Rodents chew wires, ruin insulation, and leave droppings that can spread disease. Poison alone often leaves dead rodents in walls. The lasting fix is to remove them and seal the gaps they used to get in.

Signs you need rodent control

  • Scratching in walls or the attic at night
  • Droppings in drawers, pantries, or under sinks
  • Chewed food boxes, bags, or wires
  • Greasy rub marks along walls
  • Nests made of paper, fabric, or insulation
  • Pets staring at or pawing at walls

Rodents we treat

TypeWhat to know
House mouseSmall, gray brown, fits through a dime sized hole. Most common indoor rodent in Oklahoma.
Norway ratLarge and heavy. Burrows near foundations, sheds, and wood piles.
Roof ratSlim, good climber. Travels along trees and power lines into attics.
Deer mouseFound near fields and new subdivisions. Can carry hantavirus, so droppings need careful cleanup.

How we handle rodent control

1

Inspect

We find where rodents enter, travel, and nest, from the roofline to the foundation.

2

Remove

We set traps and tamper resistant bait stations in safe places away from kids and pets.

3

Seal

We close entry points with steel mesh, sealant, and other rodent proof materials.

4

Follow up

We return to check traps and confirm the activity has stopped.

How much does rodent control cost?

ServiceTypical price
InspectionFree
Trapping program$150 to $350
Trapping plus sealing entry points$300 to $600 or more
Follow up checksIncluded in most programs

Sealing work is the biggest factor. Homes with many gaps at the roofline or garage take more time.

How to prevent it

  • Seal gaps around pipes, vents, and garage doors
  • Store pet food and bird seed in metal or hard plastic bins
  • Trim branches 3 feet away from the roof
  • Keep firewood away from the house
  • Clean up fallen fruit and pet waste in the yard

We only use EPA registered products and follow the label, as Oklahoma law requires. Tell us about kids, pets, fish tanks, or anyone with asthma and we will adjust the treatment.

Common questions

  • How long does it take to get rid of mice?

Most homes are clear in 1 to 3 weeks once entry points are sealed.

  • Do you use poison inside the home?

We prefer traps inside. Bait is used in locked stations, usually outside.

  • Why do mice come back after I trapped them?

The entry points were not sealed. New mice follow the same paths in.

  • Are rodent droppings dangerous?

They can carry bacteria and viruses. Do not sweep or vacuum them dry. Wet them with disinfectant first and wear gloves.

  • When are rodents worst in Oklahoma?

From September through February when they look for warm shelter.
